The National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994 (Act 492) to formulate and administer schemes of examinations, evaluation, assessment, certification and standards for non-university tertiary institutions, professional bodies and private institutions
Job Summary
To contribute to fulfilling the mandate of the organization by ensuring an effective and efficient development of test items.
Duties
He/She shall be the head of the Test Development Division and shall be responsible for test development activities at the Secretariat. Specifically he/she shall be responsible for:
• Drawing up programmes and activities to be approved for Implementation
• Coordinating and monitoring the development of test items
• Developing a test item bank
• Planning for the moderation of test items
• Designing systems to control test development activities
• Planning and carrying out periodic review of test development systems and practices
• Initialing process for the appointment and training of examiners and moderators

Qualification Required & Experience
A Bachelor s degree in Education/Statistics/Mathematics and at least a Master’s Degree in Education, preferably Measurement and Evaluation, Educational Psychology or Curriculum Studies.
Experience
• A minimum of four (4) years’ post-qualification working experience in a senior management position in an examination body; OR
• Must be involved in examination matters at the tertiary, professional, technical or related educational institution for a minimum of four (4) years.
Age limit
Not more than 45 years
Person specification:
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ready to travel within the country on official assignment
• Possess and exhibit values of credibility and confidentiality
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point
• Must have strong interpersonal relations and organizational skills
• Must be committed to quality assurance principles
• Proven ability to supervise staff [not less than eight (8)]
