JOB PURPOSE

To plan, dimension and procure transmission network expansions. To maintain updated network details to facilitate planning, expansion and optimization of the network.

Key Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Transmission database and change management process implementation
o   To maintain a centralized database will all transmission equipment, network configuration etc…
o   To ensure that any change in the transmission network is reflected in the database.

•   Transmission planning (including synchronization)
o   To produce, maintain and implement a 3 years transmission expansion plan (incl. network design, CAPEX forecast, procurement timeline) supporting radio and transmission expansion plans.
o   The plan shall be aligned with performance and redundancy requirements.
o   To perform all transmission planning activities for access and core transmission networks including optimizing the transmission network in line with transmission KPIs
o   To monitor transmission network capacity utilization and make recommendations for expansions

•   CAPEX planning, implementation and tracking
o   To ensure procurement activities deadlines are met and to support procurement activities for transmission
equipment.
o   To advise on vendor strategy for transmission equipment.
o   To support Capital Acquisition Request preparation for all transmission related matters.

•   Leased line procedure and cost monitoring
o   To implement MIC standard operating process for leased line commitments.
o   To optimize transmission plans according to OPEX and CAPEX implications.

Position Requirements

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Engineering in Telecommunication/Electronics preferably first degree
•   Transmission network planning and implementation, GSM, cellular technologies, project management, preferably good financial management understanding.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

•   3 years of Planning, development and implementation of transmission networks preferably of cellular networks
•   GENERIC: Communication / leadership / project management
•   JOB SPECIFIC: Transmission network planning and design experience
•   OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 4 "E's" individual - Energetic, Energizing others, Edge to make decisions, Execute decisions
