Job Summary
• Reporting to the CEO, the Treasurer will be required to re-organise the company's treasury function and run it as a vibrant and viable profit centre.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the institution's cashflows to ensure compliance with regulatory liquidity limits as well as with the company's own liquidity policy
• Responsible for ensuring that the company's liquidity management policy is up dated regularly to keep it adequate for the needs of the business at all times.
• Actively trade in treasury products
• Manage treasury risks proactively and diligently to avoid loss, non-compliance or the risk of fraud.
• Have primary responsibility for the instition's assets and liabilities including serving as the chairman of the institution's ALCO
• Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities
• As part of the company's management team, the treasurer will be required to contribute to strategy formulation and execution as well as assist the CEO in the day-to-day running of the business.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, Banking, Mathematics or Economics
• 5 years treasury experience in a similar management role
• Good understanding of the local and international treasury markets including a good working knowledge of treasury products.
• Ability to work independently without much technical supervision
