Job Summary
• Reporting to the Bank's Managing Director, the position will provide oversight of the Bank's treasury department to ensure that the Bank meets its liquidity, profitability and solvency goals, in line with statutory requirements and the Bank's internal limits and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop efficient and effective treasury policies, systems and procedures that supports the Bank's overall objectives of customer satisfaction and growth in business volume and supervise its implementation
• Manage multiple risks including liquidity, funding, market access, maturity concentration, counterperty and profit volatility risks across of the Bank
• Develop and execute strategies for investment of surplus funds in treasury bills, bonds and other money market instruments
• Manage the end to end dealing activity so as to ensure that all the Bank's interests are protected at all times and financial targets are met
• Develop innovative teasury products that will enable the bank grow its foreign exchange and money market volumes and revenues
• Direct, manage, develop and supervise Treasury team to achieve unit goals and objectives
• Propose, negotiate and regularly advise on the funds transfer pricing policy for the Bank, in a consistent manner and in compliance with Bank's policies, taking into account local market dynamics
• Provide leadership at ALCO fora as well as up-to-date balance sheet analysis and information to members at all times
• Develop and oversee the implementation of liquidity stress test strategies and ensure that the Bank meets all its liquidity requirements and that proper contingency plans are in place to address excess and deficient liquidity incidences in line with the Bank policy and procedures
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Master's degree in Accounting/Finance from a recognized university
• Must possess a qualified professional certificate in Accounting/Finance such as CA/ACCA/CIMA or its equivalent
• Must possess ACI or CFA certification
• Must have 12 years relevant experience of which 4 years should have been in senior management position within treasury
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Strong analytical, financial and systems skills are required
• Strong communication skills to gain approval for complex strategies and funding solutions.
• Ability to articulate market views and translate into trading strategies
• Extensive treasury, Markets and Risk Management knowledge, with a thorough understanding of FX, Money Markets, Fixed Income and Derivative Products
• Track record of profit generation and discipline in managing large market risk exposurers
• Experience in setting up Treasury Management Systems and the related operating framework
