Objectives
The Treasury Risk Division (FFMA3) is responsible for the management of treasury risk and for the oversight of treasury activities. The Division carries out middle office functions for the Treasury Department and ensures timely reporting, and risk management monitoring of Treasury activities. In fulfilling its mission, the Division provides efficient information systems and analytical support tools to the Treasury Department to improve transactions processing and the decision-making process. Summit is the key integrated system used for Treasury operations.
Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Manager of the Treasury Risk Division, the incumbent’s responsibilities will include the following:
Maintenance of Treasury applications and support to users of Treasury systems
• Ensure the monitoring and day-to-day use of Summit, the integrity of market and trade data, and ensure that daily system operations procedures are followed;
• Provide support on key systems used in the Treasury department, including Summit, Numerix, Reuters, Bloomberg and others;
• Respond to queries and reporting requirements of Treasury, Risk Management and Accounting Departments and develop ad hoc applications when necessary;
• Identify users training requirements and organize training sessions.
Liaison with CIMM and suppliers of Treasury systems
• Liaise with the Corporate Information Management and Methods Department (CIMM) to ensure adequate technical support on Treasury systems for project implementation activities, customization, daily back-up and batch processing, system security and database maintenance;
• Interact with CIMM to evaluate hardware and software requirements;
• Liaise with Treasury systems suppliers and data service providers to ensure adequate maintenance, technical support and smooth running of their services;
• Work with technical specialists of software suppliers to resolve complex programming and configurations problems.
Technical support for the implementation of Treasury systems
• Participate in the implementation of Treasury systems, in collaboration with CIMM in order to improve transactions processing, control framework and the decision-making process;
• Analyse client server systems, develop feasibility studies, and design application software to support Treasury requirements.
• Participation to the migrations to new versions of Treasury systems;
• Provide specifications for the design and development of interfaces between Summit and other Treasury systems;
• Make recommendations on Treasury activities workflows based on systems functionalities and best market practices.
Qualification Required & Experience
• At least a Master’s degree in Computer Science and /or in Finance/Banking with knowledge in Management Information Systems or in a related discipline;
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with systems analysis and programming skills;
• Working experience in the implementation of Treasury systems used by Multilateral Development Banks and Investments Banks;
• Understanding of treasury financial instruments, fixed income securities, derivatives and risk management concepts;
• Competence in the use of Bank standard software applications and development tools (Windows, Oracle, SQL, XML, C++, SAP); knowledge of Summit (Summit APIs) or similar application is highly desirable and will be an advantage;
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
