Job Vacancy For Unit Manager – Mine Survey At Keegan Resources (Ghana) Ltd – Esaase



Keegan Resources (Ghana) Ltd., is now recruiting for an experienced Unit Manager – Mine Survey to lead the Survey Unit at its flagship Esaase Gold Project in transitioning through development and steady-state operation. Reporting to the Manager Mining, this senior role will require the successful candidate to participate in development of the survey unit and implement the requisite systems and programs. The successful candidate will actively work with the site HR team to identify, attract, develop, and retain the skills sets required for the success of the Survey Unit of a high performance organization.

The successful applicant will have the support of the Manager Mining and the entire management team to achieve the performance goal(s) of the role.

This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The Esaase Camp facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (gym, volleyball/basketball and pool tables) and Wi-Fi access.

Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Qualification Required & Experience

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chief Surveyor or Senior Mine Surveyor to put their stamp on what is effectively a greenfield operation. Having worked in a comparable environment, you will bring a wealth of experience in implementing mine surveying systems and programs. The following minimum qualifications and experience will be required:

•   Degree in Mine Survey, Geodetic/Geomatic Engineering or related field from a reputable institution;
•   Minimum of five (5) years’ post qualification work experience in mine surveying field. Experience within the Mining Industry is mandatory;
•   Must demonstrate understanding of computer package based survey systems and be able to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations governing the survey practices relative to the work situation;
•   Good PC skills and advance computer literacy in Surpac, ACAD, Arc GIS, civil CAD, Calson, etc;
•   Knowledge and understanding of the statutory regulations relevant to safety and the environment for the mining industry;
•   Possession of survey license or membership of a related recognised professional institute will be an added advantage;
•   A strong desire to coach and develop others and to enhance localisation by sharing skills and knowledge;
•   Communication: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is highly desirable.
