Secretary / Registrar Wanted For Employment At Ghana Institute Of Management And Public Administration (GIMPA)



The Secretary / Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the rector and the institute and is responsible for the general administration of the institute and for providing guidance for the framework within which policies are made.

Duties / Responsibilities

He/She is the custodian of the records of the institute and by virtue of his/her office, secretary to the GIMPA council and the academic board. He/She will oversee, guide, and direct through designed supervisory personnel the activities related to:

. Program planning and budgeting / controller comprising budget preparations, budget preparations, budget control, financial accounting and reporting, student accounts, cash receipts and disbursements, investments.

. Procurement and contracting operations of the institute

. Operation and maintenance of the physical plant including construction, repair, and renovation

. Other support service operation including property control, maintenance of grounds, transportation, operation of mail service, printing services custodial services, management of institute's apartments, facilities management, food services, computer services and bookstore.

. Assist in the development of the institute's strategic plan

. Prepare plans and reports on the institute short and long-range goals and operations for submission to the board

. Ensure that the evaluation system for staff is carried out in each unit

. Evaluate all directors within the division of Finance and Administration, including Action plans

. Develop procedures and policies for procurement of good and non-personal services for the institute

. Review all policy statements in Finance and administration and coordinate development of new or revised policies.

. Serve as Affirmative action officer for non-academic staff.

. Perform other duties as assigned by the rector.

Qualifications And Experience

. Candidates must possess on advanced degree with not less than 15 years post-graduation working experience, five years of which must be in a senior management position.
. Experience in Tertiary education institution will be an advantage. Candidates must be self-motivated individuals with requisite leadership, vision and management abilities to serve as part of a management team dedicated to providing excellent services in an academic environment.

. Ability to supervise the activities of senior administrative staff and motivate same for higher productivity.
